If you are looking for a filly with a pedigree, that can give you the chance to aim up at the better 3yo staying races and will give you the chance of carrying some genuine residual value post-racing career, all while still carrying Grand Syndicates’ big value, then look no further.
Introducing Grand Syndicates’ new filly by the Cox Plate winner SHAMUS AWARD and from the proven stakes-winner producing IT’S YOU.
A son of the champion sire SNITZEL and a dual G1 winning 3yo, SHAMUS AWARD is a young stallion set to make his presence felt on the Australian breeding industry.
On the track, Shamus Award was a highly talented racehorse, following an ultra-consistent 2yo season which saw him placed in the VRC Sire’s Produce, Chairman’s Stakes, Maribyrnong Plate and Inglis Banner, he was an emphatic winner of Australia’s premier WFA race, the Cox Plate. In winning the Cox Plate as a 3yo, he joined elite company, becoming only the 4th 3yo to win it in 34 years alongside the champion OCTAGONAL and successful sires SAVABEEL and SO YOU THINK. He returned in the Autumn and then became the only horse to ever complete the VRC Australian Guineas–Cox Plate double when taking out the G1 mile for 3yos and beating CRITERION in the process. Retiring as a 3yo with almost $2.5 million in prizemoney, he’s now set to follow that success as a sire.
Bred on a proven and successful cross and from a pedigree full of black-type, this filly’s dam is the winning race-mare and proven producer, IT’S YOU. Stakes-placed herself as a 3yo, It’s You has already produced an impressive 6 winners, including the stakes-winner YOUREIN and the 7-time winner and stakes-placed OFF THE RAILS. On top of her proven ability to produce black-type progeny, It’s You’s 6 winning sons and daughters include 5 city-winners, with this filly bred on the same cross as 3 of them, including the previously mentioned stakes-performer OFF THE RAILS. Throw in the fact that It’s You is half-sister to Heatherlie Stakes winner HONEST POLITICIAN as well as the G1 placed IPIOGA and the 5-time group placed PACINO and it’s a pedigree full of black-type which gives this filly every chance of residual value past her racing career.
To be trained at Scone by leading trainer Brett Cavanough, this filly is eligible and paid up for all of the bonus NSW prizemoney scheme BOBS, as well as fully paid up for the $8 million Inglis Race Series, which includes the new $4 million raceday at Warwick Farm, beginning in February next year and only for eligible and paid up graduates of Inglis sales. With shares in this filly priced at $5,150 including all of the above as well as breaking-in and all other associated costs right through until July 1st 2018, she represents great value for those looking for a filly with a pedigree filled with black-type and the opportunity to build some significant residual value post-racing career.
